 Brady
Smith graduated from Bowling Green State University,
Bowling Green, Ohio in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science
in Education. He then went on to teach Biology and Anatomy
at Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio. While teaching,
Smith completed the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy
at Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio.
Smith
currently serves as a Police Officer for the Cedarville
Police Department and Ranger with Greene County Parks
in Greene County, Ohio and has been an officer since
1994. Smith has completed more than fourteen hundred
hours of specialized training including, Narcotics,
Use of Force, Firearms Armorer, First Line Supervision,
Interview and Interrogation, Deviant Sexual Behavior,
Death Investigation, IPMBA Police Cycling, ADAP/HGN
(DUI Investigation) and Accident Investigation among
many others.
Officer
Smith is a Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training
Officer and also holds numerous other instructor certificates
including; ASP, Tactical Baton, Oleoresin Capsicum (pepper
spray), Strategies and Tactics of Patrol Stops, Firearms
(Pistol, Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Select Fire and Simulated
Firearms), Officers Flying Armed, Female Self Protection
and Advanced Hunter Education.
In
addition to instructing the officers at his departments,
Officer Smith has instructed at several other law enforcement
departments and is an instructor for the Ohio Peace
Officer Basic Training Academy. He has also instructed
at the North Carolina Justice Academy and currently
serves on the North Carolina Park Ranger Training Institute
committee. Also Officer Smith has been involved with
instructing members of the public in Female Self Protection,
Firearms and Hunter Education. Officer Smith is a member
of the National Rifle Association and the International
Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.
